I’ve already posted this bug in the bug tracker ( http://modxcms.com/bugs/task/574?tasks=last), but by posting here I’m hoping that someone is able to provide me a quick fix so I can continue building my site.

    The problem:
I’m able to create new documents in the root of the site, but I’m unable to edit them from the manager. Changing titles and content as well as switching templates is impossible. After I’ve made modifications to a document the manager just keeps displaying "working". After refreshing the page no changes are made to it’s contents. This happens on all documents and folders, even when I enable "allow root" in user permissions. Using Quickedit to edit the documents works however fine.
The problem exists in versions 0.9.2.1, 0.9.5 beta 3 rev 1533 and 0.9.5 beta 3 rev 1732. Version 0.9.0 does not seem to have this problem.
I did a clean install of all versions and the problem occurs from the beginning, even before changes are made to the site’s settings.

    My system:
    Apache 2.2.3
    PHP 5.1.6
    Mysql 5.0.24a

..and I now see this is the wrong forum to post, sorry.

I think your problem is the same, or tightly linked to, the one I reported a while back :

I’ve been using the default (admin) user account and both Firefox 1.5.0.7 and IE6.

@ Davidm: I noticed your bug report before I reported my problem. Although my problem is very similar, it is not the same. I have no problems with creating a document ( I am able to choose any template), but when I try to edit the manager hangs. Setting Allow root creation does not solve this problem.

Skipsel, I can’t reproduce your problem but based on your server software specs, sounds like you’ve got a very bleeding edge machine... I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a weird corner case configuration issue. Out of curiosity, where’s it hosted?

It’s hosted on one of the machines ( running Mandriva 2007 ) the University here provides. Since there’s nothing on the site yet, i’d be happy to pm you the admin login so you can see for yourself.

I am running also PHP 5.1.6 and MySQL 5.0.22a (slightly older build) but the things which is pretty different is I am running Apache 1.3.34, if it can help...

Since editing the files from the manager is not possible I tried editting them with QuickEdit. After changing the content of the indexpage (id=1) I got the following error:

                    « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
                    « PHP Parse Error »

                    PHP error debug
Error: array_values() [function.array-values]: The argument should be an array
                    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
                    File: /var/www/domain.info/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(729) : eval()’d code
                    Line: 372

I did disable the pagecache option. But I Shouldn’t be looking at a cached version of a page after an update, or am I wrong?

After installation an exclamation mark without any text appears under "configuration check". I’ve already removed the install dir, made config.inc.php read-only and made sure that al folders that nead to world-writable are writable. Is there a way to check where this error is coming from? Could this be related to my problem?

I’ve also checked all other databases on this server (ie. SMF) and they al work without any problems.
