    Hello,

I’ve been setting up a basic blog today with Newspublisher and webusers that can log in to create a post.

I’m not sure if I’m having a problem or if I’ve just got the wrong end of the documentation stick. Basically when I’ve logged in as a webuser I get the form to create the blog, I thought that this would use FCKEditor so have the options such as bold/italic add a weblink. But I just have a plain old box with no formatting available. Is this how it’s meant to be?

Sorry if this is just me being silly, I’ve looked all day and can’t seem to work it out.

    Thanks for your time.

    Sian

      Hello,

I tried checking this through Firefox rather than Safari and it works fine. So that’s great, presume that it’s my own silly fault for using Safari wink

The FCKEditor does not currently does not work Safari but I believe TinyMCE should work just fine. You can give it a try.

No RTEs work in Safari completely at the moment (at least JS based ones that is like FCK/Tiny/Widg/Xinha/etc.).

So Tiny will work on the front end (unless in Safari)...

in FF (haven’t checked or don’t remember checking in IE) it always returns the page with Tiny blank, but FCK works fine... I’d rather have Tiny though.

All that said, at the moment, neither is working.... not sure what I’ve done, but very frustrating either way :’(

Okay, got FCK working again... at least, but still no luck with Tiny.

However, and I guess semi-related because this is dealing more with NewsManager (but it was developed off of NewsPublisher)... anyway to reload the RTE content section with the existing content when going back in to edit? Right now it opens up blank, which means to edit the bulk of the news would requiring copying it first before going in to edit.

EDIT: Oh, Oh! I might have actually solved one of my own issues, but if anyone who actually knows what they are doing could confirm, that would be great... so I’m using a TV that is just the RTE and calling that from the tpl for the form. So to keep the existing content, I added [+content+] to the default values, and it looks like it works.

Okay, so this might be blatantly obvious, but throw a dog a bone once in awhile! wink Alas, still no Tiny sad
