Hello,
I started using modx earlyer this year with good results (I even figured out making templates), however one one of my deployments I have been having major manager issues.
There are several modx sites each setup is seperated (folder, database, database server, subdomain name)
I have been having 2 main issues.
1. 2 of the 3 sections will load and the last will prompt me to download index.php
2. Very slow loading time 1 min or more on 6 meg DSL
I have another site setup with the same host which run GREAT so this is rather annoying.
I have attempted a reinstall to eliminate customization errors along with using a new DB server.
The sites are located in this directory layout:
/chapters/site/stuff here
On the know good site
/www/stuff here
Each site address points to the related folder. One possable issue is I have several domain names (3) pointed to the folders. It comes to 6 different addresses as www. is another virtural host (subdomain)
I really want to make this work as I know the system enough to provide support and it’s easy enough for each head person to use. I don’t have time to build and maintain 12 sites for this one group so im breaking at least 8 out for them to build and maintain.
Any help with this issue would be great!

Are you running native visitor loggin in those sites? are them busy sites? If so, disable logging.. View the size of your log tables and truncate if needed.
"He can have a lollipop any time he wants to. That's what it means to be a programmer."
I was having serious performance issues with the manager until I switched off logging....
If you need stats I would use google analytics or some other stat package.
Doze, quick question,
By truncate you mean delete the log entries in the relevant database?
In the database tables modx_log_xxx (seven of them) can you delete the entries in one table and not the other or do you have to clear them for all log tables. I also assume there is no issue just deleting these entries from the database (e.g does not affect anything else or cause any problems)
thanks

You can truncate any of them you like, or leave any of them. Truncating is a little different that deleteing; truncating will reset an auto_increment back to 1, for example.

The install in question is 95% stock the only change is I uploaded an additional template, but it hasn’t been configured etc.
I will look into disabling logs and what not, as of this moment the manager still dosn’t fully load were I can do anything. I will attempt again to see if I can get it working.
If you don’t mind please post a quick how to as my skills arn’t all that great at this moment in time.
Thanks

Edit: Forgot to answer question as to site activity. While I can’t say for sure I would guess a max of 20 hits per month right now. Once working the person is going to build site so there should be more hits in that general timeframe.

I know this has drifted off into the past and all, but the problem still exists and I can’t get a standard install to work correctly.
Any help with this issue is very welcome.
The only thing I can guess is the problem is related to there being 6 different addresses pointed to the folder containing the install. If so is there any way to fix this problem where I can get reasonable usage?
Thanks
