Things were really sweet with my prototype site until I experimented with a new plug in. At least it coincided with it.

It involved modxapi and a promising plug-in to extend the FCK editor to insert links to MODx pages ( http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,6176.0.html)

It didn’t seem to work for me. So I thought reverted to where I was before I inserted. I had backed-up the FCK editor configuration. Now my otherwise sweet site loads like molasses.

    It is currently at http://edutainment.com.au/modx

The Mollio (type C) style menu and header load OK. Then there’s an intolerable 20 second or more delay before the rest of the page renders. It’s as if it is looking for something that is not available, then loads - eventually. I surmise there might still be some source that prompts the MODx parser to poll for some item that isn’t there.

    The manager function seems OK.

    So far I’ve tried

    • refreshing the cache, and
    • turning off the FCk editor.

With no luck. I note that if I made a plain vanilla test page. It seemed to load. But does this mean I have to recast my template?

I’d be obliged for any troubleshooting tips or leads to get my site running as smoothly as it did before.

I’m using MODx 0.9.2.1 by the way.

      Hmmm.

After a few hours re-checking the template, snippets, chunks etc it seems to have disappeared.

Maybe it was just a temporary server issue.

Yep seems ok now, I did have a look at the site last night and thought it was dead slow compared to http://edutainment.com.au

Initially i thought it might have been php / mysql running slow but the timings at the bottom of the page looked fine.

Are you linking any images / files from other sites? Perhaps their site was slow last night.

Its working well now though laugh
