I am trying to download modx-0.9.2.1.zip from http://modxcms.com/releases.html.

All I am managing to get is a file called download.php.

Have renamed download.php to .zip and managed to extract modx-0.9.2.1, this seems a crazy way of distributing this application.

      What browser are you using?
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

        Using:

        Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7

Have now got MODx setup and running on localhost, but am slightly concerned about what I am actually running especially as it seems incredibly slow at times.

However I can put up with that for now, but I would like to download a .zip and know what it is.

This sometimes happen due to extensions loaded or a connection timeout I think, but for me whenever it happened (not only on modx site, but on other also) I just canceled the download and restart it again and it worked.

May be try switching off your firewall etc.

          regards.

Just downloaded it with Opera and got the .zip, guess it must be something to do with Firefox.

Have just tried downloading from the repository with firefox and got download.php again. Is it just my setup or does it happen to anyone else?

It has nothing to do with extensions etc.. this is a known bug in the FileDownload snippet what will be fixed soon. You will hopefully see a new version of the snippet in about week or so.
