First post here so I hope that this isn’t a newbie "silly question". I been using Joomla on other sites but Modx seems like a dream.

I’m using DropMenu with the follow arguements in my template:
    [[DropMenu? &menuName=`topMenu` &startDoc=`0` &levelLimit=`1` &topnavClass=`menu` &hereClass=`activeLink`]]

In my CSS I’m using a "sliding doors" technique to create a top tabbed menu, which uses the <li> tag and <a> to put background images. This works perfected the only problem I have is that I would like to create a tab for the active page, this will use different background images.

I thought that this would be no problem as the DropMenu has the &hereClass to differentiate the active menu option from the other tabs. The problem is the &hereClass argument seems to do away with the <a> tag on the active menu item.

    I tried adding
    &selfAsLink='true'
to the dropmenu argument. But that seemed to take away the ativeLink class.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, DropMenu has some issues. You can find fix for this here. Also, find more information about various DropMenu related things here.

DropMenu will be replaced by Wayfinder in the next MODx release. It’s the successor of DropMenu and you can get it from the resource repository if you need.

SMF search is very crappy, better to use google instead by doing site:modxcms.com/forums <keywords>
