    Hi .. following DavidM’s instructions ..i downloaded newsmanager/editor , ditto and Jot ...

I havnt been able to make head or tail of these (being stupid!) so ive followed instead Susans setting up a basic Blog tutorial (without the registration page .. im gonna add users myself)

Now .. this works fine and dandy .. BUT .. i need to add a few things .. one of which is the ability to list blogs by user rather than just everything in the blog folder) and also to have the bloggers picture appear besides their blog .. also how do i go about this ..

    Many thanks

Oh yeah .. and is there anyway to get more buttons on the blog editor other than just bold italic and link as in susans tutorial .. an image insert and align justify buttons would rock!

      Ta

It takes time to learn MODx, I can easily understand how NewsManager could be hard to understand, but you’ll get there (as we all did !). Maybe one day we’ll find the time to write a tutorial for advanced blogging, but right now, we don’t have it sad

Anyway, the experience you’ve gained setting up the basic blog will help you reach the next step.
As for adding buttons to the editor, check Tools > Configuration and at the bottom, you’ve got the RTE editor setting (FCK and TinyMCE). Check the theme : simple, advanced, full... to your liking smiley

Ive been using Modx for quite some time now.. just the firat time ive ever had to do blogs!

Normally the RTE’s settings should reflect on the frontend... which editor are you using ?
