    Hi there,

I am new to modx (fantastic product by the way), but I have got a bit stuck using tv’s I have looked through numerous pages in the forum; tried the example in the @INHERT documentation and I still cannot find the answer.

I have created a tv called [*pageLogo*] , whatever I set for default value shows on every page that use template which calls [*pageLogo*] tv. I also have several directories that use the root(0) as their parent. The problem is when I try to edit and save tv value for any of my documents the value is overwritten with tv’s default value.

I have tried inserting directories between the content directories and the root, but this did not work. Please can you show me how to fix tv’s saving problem either through the code or through the database tables?

    Many thanks in advance. smiley

Can you provide some environment information? Specifically, MODx version, PHP and MySQL versions, platform, etc. It’s possible you may be experiencing a known defect, and I’d like to rule it out before offering a bunch of advice.

0921 has this problem. It’s resolved in 095. As a workaround enable quickedit in your templates and modify the values from there.

          Hi guys,

Thanks for the reply I am using modx 0.9.2.1 with Apache 2.0, Php 5, and Mysql 5 in a XP local environment.

I have tried to enable quickedit using [*#pageLogo*] this did not work, although I can see the quickedit folder is installed on my hard drive. It is not showing up in the manager module section.

Could you please give me a guide to enable quickedit

make sure both the plugin and the module are enabled in the Resources > Manage Resources and Modules menus.

Thanks for the reply, I have added quickedit module code to the new module form and the quickedit plugin code to the new plugin form. Then I clicked on the refreshed site link added several tv such as [*#topBanner*] but nothing happens. When I click on quickedit then the run module button in the manager all that happens is that the quickedit document page with a faq is displayed.

Please help I am really stuck also I get the feeling that I am going to need something called fckEditor as well I am not sure.
