How do I turn debug on?

Here is website so you can see for yourself

    http://www.mywebvideogenerator.com

In the link "Test" I used "[~2~] for the link.

I am using this in my .htacess site (no WP rules)

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

What I mean "doesn’t work" is that it still shows ".php?id=x" instead of ".html" in the url

    Hope this helps smiley

Let me know what else I can do or try.

    Regards,

    Ken

Did you turn on friendly URL support in your MODx configuration in the manager? That has to be enabled for the rewrite rules to kick in.

        LOL

Its always the little things in life smiley

        That was it!

Thanks - and sorry if this should have been a no brainer.

We can consider this issue closed.

BTW - is there documentation somewhere that would have told me to do that?

        Regards,

        Ken

Well, frankly I’m surprised you figured out the .htaccess part without also finding that there was a switch in the manager; I guess that’s because you had prior Wordpress experience. I can see inferences to the switch, but haven’t found an explicit "Do this" outside the manager itself. I think it’s generally a good idea to nosy around Config options whenever you get a new app to see what it can do but isn’t doing by default.

There is Google Friendly URLs over on modxhost.com, but that’s slightly confusing because it’s just illustrated step by step instructions on using q= instead of id=, and doesn’t need or mention mod_rewrite.

So yes, we need a guide on friendly URLs. Once 0.9.5 is finalised I plan to help with a series of FAQs, scooping up questions from the forum, so I must thank you for adding this one to the mix.
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.
