how do i set modx to use external email server? ie: smtp is on NOT localhost
that is.. so that the web-registration snippet would work by sending emailt o the external smtp..

You would have to modify the snippet to use your SMTP server instead of the mail() function. I’m just now working with this idea while making up a newsletter snippet/module, so I’m afraid I won’t be a lot of help in how to go about doing this yet.
