News Posting Help

Greetings everyone,

With many news posting snippets I’m not sure which to pick and to set up. Please note that I’m really stupid when it comes to MODx and how to do this stuff I’m learning but not as fast as I’d like.

I’d like to do the same as: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ I want it to look like that but when I post the news/updates about the site, I have the option of showing the full article or have it like that site where it shows so much then puts a more tag at the end and also makes the title a link as well.

Any thoughts on which snippet that can do that and/or how to set it up like that?

Thanks for all who read and help

Hi Izumi,

Check out the Ditto snippet, you can download it from the MODx repository.

I think the splitter parameter should be able to do what you need in terms of displaying partial/full articles on the listing (sorry I can’t be more definitive on that - I just don’t use Ditto enough to know all the parameters)

For more information on how to use Ditto, you can check out the documentation at: http://modxcms.com/ditto_documentation.html

Hope that helps,
Garry
