So how are people doing backups out in the wild? Is it good enough to rely on your hosting provider?
The Tools/backup feature in the manager just does a mysqldump, and requires a manual restore. However there is no site assets/uploads backup feature.
The most relevant forum thread I have found is modbak
http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,2794.0.html is this going to become the ’approved’ way, if not, what is?
I’d like my users to be able to manage their own sites, this requires the ability to do full backups, restores I can get involved with if need be.
Is anyone using cron jobs to automate these? (it’s only tar and mysqldump after all).
