I just installed MODx .9.2.1 and the installation went well, but I cannot log-in.

My installation is pretty normal, except I have not installed it at the top level of my website, since I’m just testing it. But I don’t think this is the problem (necessarily).

The initial connection to the MySQL database in  login.processor.php seems to pass fine (it gets by line 16 with no problem),  but later  I start to get errors.  Here is what is spilled into my browser:

Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /u/vp/medialab.com/www/PWMenus/modx-0.9.2.1/manager/processors/login.processor.php on line 68

Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: A link to the server could not be established in /u/vp/medialab.com/www/PWMenus/modx-0.9.2.1/manager/processors/login.processor.php on line 68

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /u/vp/medialab.com/www/PWMenus/modx-0.9.2.1/manager/processors/login.processor.php on line 69

Are there any other permissions I need to set to get this to work?

    Thanks for any help,

    Chris
