One additional question - if you already have a published page and move it (to a new folder), will ModX trackthe change and automatically have a redirect from the old location to the new location so if people come in via the old URL they will get redirected to the new URL?

The url won’t change if you move it’s folder, unless you’re using friendly alias paths. MODx will not automatically create a redirect rule in the path’s scenario.
