Have spent the last few days (admitidly only a short period of time) investigating ModX and I feel that the flexibility it offers could be particularly usefull in putting together a site I’ve been considering recently. I’d be grateful of any feedback on how difficult the following specification would be to achieve with ModX and its various "addons" (currently working my way through the repository). Any tips on integrating these elements would also be appreciated, feel like im blind even to where to start at the moment.
Site style: Media gallery driven (images and audio) with the possibility of user upload of these items.
Desired functionality:
- Gallery component (MaxiGallery)
- Images by user
- Images by category
- Image by tags --- produce a suitable tag cloud
- User blogs (including images)
- Image / Blog comment system
- Image rating (AJAX would be great)
- Top rated images, Most viewed, Random images, New images
- RSS - specific gallery contents, new images etc, based on specific tags, user blogs
I realise that this is a huge ask, but I’m quite new to web development so any advice would be appreciated. Kinda know what I want to achieve, just not sure on how to go about it, especially with ModX.
