    Hello,

I have quite a large site thats built on Joomla. I’ve been playing around with modx to get used to it and I think its really great.

I am not greatly skilled with php or mysql so I thought I’d ask about this.

I have many members on my Joomla site, is there any existing script or system out there that I could use to bring my Joomla members over to modx? A converter of some kind?

The content on my Joomla site I can bring over with no problems but getting all my members over and having a login system that the imported members can use for the forum etc. would be strongly needed for me to acheive this.

I know it maybe a tall order, but doesn’t hurt to ask smiley Perhaps someone has done this manually and could share how they did it?

I would really appreciate some help/advice with this.

    Thanks!

    J.

Well.. if you can get the users exported from Joomla! in cvs format, there is this to import them into MODx. For the forum, you should at this point use SMF probably, because there is allready a bridge module for it. It should allow "single sign-on" setup, but I have heard that people have had some sessions problems with it..

In the same vein, does anyone have an import tool to be able to import content from a Joomla site? I’ve used the built-in importing tool from MODx, but unless I’m missing something, it pulled everything into a single field in the database. Ideally, we’d love to have some sort of db field mapping from Joomla to MODx (Title, Menu Title, Content) at the very minimum with the possibility of including Date and Author as well.

        Any thoughts on this?

        Thanks,
        Chad
