I just upgraded my site (Tilted Symmetry) to 0.9.5 beta, after having such a good impression of it with another site that upgraded out of necessity (0.9.5 fixed something that wasn’t working under PHP5).

In 0.9.5, I have to use the Green theme in Safari, because the default theme does not display or work right. For some reason, however, my Miscellaneous is missing after the upgrade. It’s my understanding that in the new version, you go to Site > Config, and then Miscellaneous is the last tab in the interface that comes up; that’s the way it is in the first site I upgraded. But in my current site, the Miscellaneous tab is missing. huh

I tried changing the theme manually to MODxGreen in the database, but that didn’t work for some reason; it still uses the default theme. I’ve viewed my manager in both Safari and Firefox, and Firefox is actually the only browser I can currently operate in because of the way the default theme displays in Safari.

Also, at the bottom of my "Interface & Editor" tab, there is some crazy stuff about the "WYMEditor", I’ll paste some of it below:

Remove All Attributes Cursor Position Selected Element
Strong Italic Superscript Subscript Ordered List Unordered List
      Undo Redo
      Link Unlink Image Table
Insert Row After Insert Row Before Insert Col After Insert Col Before Delete Row Delete Col
Paste from Word Show / Hide HTML Preview
      Containers
Paragraph Heading 1 Heading 2 Heading 3 Heading 4 Heading 5 Heading 6 Preformatted Blockquote
      Classes
      Remove Classes
      Common
      note (hidden)
      Paragraph
      important date side block
      Image
      border
      Special
      Insert WYMeditors description Insert template
      Info
      Copy-Paste clean up:ONOFF
      WYMeditor
      What is WYMeditor ?

WYMeditor is a web-based WYSIWYM editor.

WYMeditor’s main concept is to leave details of the document’s visual layout, and to concentrate on its structure and meaning, while trying to give the user as much comfort as possible (at least as WYSIWYG editors).

WYMeditor has been created to generate a perfectly structured XHTML code, to conform to the W3C specifications and to facilitate further processing by modern applications.

With WYMeditor, the code cant be contaminated by visual informations like font styles and weights, borders, colors, ...
The end-user defines content meaning ; this will then determine its rendering. The result is easy and quick maintenance of the information.

As the code is compliant to W3C specifications, you can for example process it using a XSLT (at the client or the server side), giving you a wide range of applications.

WYMeditor is released under the Open Source MIT license and is maintained by Jean-François Hovinne and Daniel Reszka. If you want to contribute, dont hesitate to contact us.

Our goal is to create a XHTML web-based editor which will be usable on many platforms, with the help of the Open Source Community.

WYMeditor has been initially created to be part of our own CMS, WYMsite, a XML-based Content Management System which tries to be easy to use and at the same time to conform to the W3C recommendations.

There’s also a textarea below all this that, at least as far as my quick immediate inspection goes, does not appear to be editable. It has several examples of the WYMEditor syntax.

None of this is at the bottom of this tab on my other 0.9.5 install.

Something is mangled there. I’d try to re-upload and reinstall. We don’t have any WYMEditor stuff in our 095 beta (or certainly shouldn’t).

I usually end up with the "miscellaneous" tab either dropped to the following line below the rest of the tabs, or off the left side of the page. Narrowing the document tree gives it enough space to line up properly.

I’ll give it a try. I already tried re-uploading the manager folder, but I’ll try the whole thing. I’ve never used the WYM editor, so the only way it could’ve gotten there is through this upload. I think I’m going to get a fresh copy of the code first.

Hmmm, I did some searching and can find no reference to WYMEditor or even the string WYM anywhere in the codebase from the 095 installation, so it’s impossible that the WYMEditor stuff was part of the MODx upload, unless you had some WYM stuff in the directory you extracted the MODx files into before uploading. Let us know what you figure out.

Wow, really? Well, this install has been around a bit, so I suppose that it’s possible I tried something with WYM in the past. I did know about it, and have expressed interest in it. If I did put the WYM code in the manager folder, it may explain why the rest of this junk is happening.

I’ve run into some other difficulties with my host, so when I get through with that mess I’ll work on doing a cleaner upgrade. Thanks for the help.
