    Hi,

    I’m having trouble installing both 9.2.1 and the new beta - I’m hoping that someone can help.
    It’s basically complaining that it can’t find the include directory:

    Warning: main(quotes_stripper.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/monkey/public_html/index.php on line 85

    Warning: main(): Failed opening 'quotes_stripper.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='/home/monkey/public_html/includes/') in /home/monkey/public_html/index.php on line 85
    Unable to load configuration settings
    Please run the MODx install utility

    I can see it’s point as the include directory is within the manager directory. I have tried putting a duplicate copy of the directory where it’s expecting to see it (just to test a theory) and then I just get the error:
    Unable to load configuration settings
    .

    Does anyone know why this should be happening? It seems like there’s something wrong/odd about the shared server that I use.
    It uses PHPSuexec and PHP is run as a CGI module.

    Web Server:
    ----------------
    PHP version: 4.4.0
    MySQL version: 4.1.21
    Operating System and version: Linux/Apache (don’t know version)

    Many thanks,

    Ian

      This is either a problem with the location of your extracted files (it is reporting this error as if you have the manager/index.php in the root of your web server document root; please ensure all files were extracted into the proper paths; there should be an /assets, /install, and /manager subdirectory in your install location), or else the server configuration is not allowing the manager/index.php to set the include path via this code...
      if(version_compare(phpversion(), "4.3.0")>=0) {
      	set_include_path($incPath); // this now works, above code did not?
      } else {
      	ini_set("include_path", $incPath); // include path the old way
      }

      We’ve encountered this latter problem on several free hosting services that disable the ability to set the PHP include_path configuration at runtime. In particular, there was some work done to make an older version of MODx work on these kinds of environments, but I’ll have to do some searching to see if there are any current workarounds for this, if the problem is not the former one I listed.

        Hi,

        Thanks for your reply.
        PHPinfo says that the include_path is "/home/monkey/public_html/includes/".
        I extracted the archive on the server which set up all the structure - there are both assets and manager directories although the install one was deleted after the installation process.
        I really appreciate your help.

        Thanks,

        Ian
