Minimum database user privileges

I have several MODx installations up and running happily, but up until now I
have not been able to find any information on which privileges I should give
the MODx database user.

What are the minimum privileges I can give my MODx db user and still have
a working installation?

To install you need create privs. You’ll definitely need read, update and probably delete privs for existing and new tables. Some modules create new tables when they’re run the first time (or will anyway).

You also need alter table priveleges and possible more. In fact, if you would test which priveleges are needed to complete an installation and we can put together an official answer to the question and add it to the FAQ.

not exactly Mr MySQL here, so don’t want to poke about
too much, not knowing what is going on in that end of things.

Want to keep a tidy house though!
