    Hi

    Here is the doctype in my template, I don’t know if it’s binded to my problem:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="fr" lang="fr">
    ...
    	<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/>
    	<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="application/xhtml+xml; charset=UTF-8"/>

    When I edit a page using TinyMCE I paste this king of line:
    [[Ditto? &tpl=`NewsTemplate` &paginate=`1` &summarize=`3` &sortBy=`pub_date` &trunc=`1` &truncSpli=`0` &dateFormat=`%d %b %Y à %H:%M`]]

    When I seen the code with the HTML button it give now:
    <pre>[[Ditto? &amp;tpl=`NewsTemplate` &amp;paginate=`1` &amp;summarize=`3` &amp;sortBy=`pub_date` &amp;trunc=`1` &amp;truncSpli=`0` &amp;dateFormat=`%d %b %Y &agrave; %H:%M`]]</pre>
    In bold the code transformed in html entity, between <pre> tag because the case "Word wrapping" ckecked grin
    In fact I paste the code in HTML edition too and it give the same result.

    How can I do better, please?

      This has to do with the tinymce configuration and has been covered before but I can’t find the post... easiest thing to do is go to the tinymce home site, get the newest version, and then have a look at the configuration options included in the documentation.

      I’ll dig around if you can’t figure it out...

        Oh sorry, I have to add that it’s with TinyMCE_2.0.6.1a of course.
        Thanks if someone can help.

          I have also noticed the RTE’s are escaping characters.
          In your case it will escape & to &amp;

          It should usually work with not problems on the homepage, at least it does for me, and the parser can handle it. But yes, sometimes it’s not nice to have the code automatically changed.

            Hmmm, I don’t know if a W3C validator should give his well opinion on such pages.

              W3C validator can’t see snippetcalls, they are parsed by modx document parser to the html. W3C validator sees the output of the snippet.

                Hello Doze
                Ok you have true. But how can I eradicate the present html entity in the final output code? I would work in utf-8, and have install de 0.95 beta and it’s the same problem.

                So how do people when they don’t speak in latin1 caracters? Nothing is centralised in Modx? I thought I must just declar the good charset in the template and in languages files. In the all the snippets too, chunks and module ? huh

                Thank you for your helps

                  I agree 100%... that’s why I have been trying out the htmlpurifier plugin, you should give it a look, it’s great !

                  I know it would be better to produce a clean code and not have to purify it adding yet another processing step but, there not really another way to do that if you want WYSIWYG...

                    I’m *still* adding all my content (including HTML tags and so) on by hand and not via any editor laugh

                      Neither am I tongue I’ll either do html by hand (with the help of the BBcode extra extension for FF, nice to build list for instance) or use Textile.

                      But my clients, well, that’s another story tongue
