I’m looking to hire a MODx consultant for two weeks, possibly longer if things go well.

    Project:
A private gallery system that users are required to sign in to see their items and add/update.  The gallery data is stored in MySQL.

The system will be on a Centos Linux system - knowing how to ensure the MODx site will be fast and secure is a must.

    Who we are:
We’re a young "web 2.0" startup just outside of Washington, DC in Arlington, VA.  We are programmers (mostly java), html/javascript experts, and artist - we’re just a little rough with PHP and new to MODx.  Our web site isn’t live yet - that’s why we need a MODx consultant.

Bonus points if you’re local to the DC area and can join us for beers afterward.

This contract will start asap - maybe even today.

PM/Email/IM me.  Your form posts here, contributions to MODx, and/or other MODx sites you have customized will serve as your references.  Important:  let me know much time you can spend on this.

Are you wanting someone to do the work and setup for you or are you just looking for advice on how to integrate your software with a MODx front end? And are you hoping to make something proprietary or discuss the whole process on the forum for others to learn from?

      Just wondering.

If you are happy with the resources that are allready available, you could setup that in no time with webusers/groups and document group permissions and use MaxiGallery snippet for the gallery. It supports galleries for webusers/groups.

Though, what probably needs to be done is to make the gallery document creation automatic when new user registers..

We would like to actively support the MODx community and share our code when it makes sense and is feasible.

We are integrating with MySQL database and some java servlets for Ajax-style data retrieval.

I’ve looked at MaxiGallery - it’s a great start, but what we are building is different so we’d rather not work from that codebase.

The feature we’re building in MODx is something like Google Analytics but not for web sites. Users will sign in to see a list of objects they own. That list will be stored in MySQL on dedicated SQL machine (for speed). User will click on an object to navigate to several pages of stats each object. Stats will be loaded via AJAX to make browsing through them (hopefully) quick and sexy.
