I’m getting the following error when I run the modx installation.

Did you CHMOD /assets/cache folder and it’s files to 0777? Also, make sure that every file uploaded ok by doin reupload..

Yes.. .i did that .. am now trying to re-upload. Are there any other folders also for which i need to set the permissions.

Yes, look at the
installation instructions at
documentation. Best way to transfer modx to your server would be to ftp the archive and extract it at your server end if you have a shell access.
