$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] causes infinite loop

I use this plugin with OnWebPagePrerender event to redirect visitors from www.promosound.org to promosound.org (that is for iframe to work properly)



now id like to redirect visitors from pages like promosound.org/artists or .../contacts (wich actually are displayed in iframe) to promosound.org again, for them not to get onto crappy pages.

I though Id add some strings:


But this leads to ’infinite loop’ or something and fails to load any pages (with any url typed).


Anybody has any ideas on how to redirect from modx pages that are not start page?
(oops..I guess I answered my own question...anyways advice would be appreciated)

You added "OR REQUEST_URI ISN’T BLANK".

REQUEST URI is path and filename. I think the root is returned as "/" rather than "".

So if you want "isn’t root", try:

instead.

thanks Paul - it worked. But I need advice in this:

When an URL say "http://promosound.org/news" is entered and redirected to http://promosound.org - a page with frame is loaded. the source of the frame has address... http://promosound.org/news...which is also redirected and so on.

How can I redirect just once? How can I check if the frame page loaded and we dont need to redirect any more?

There’s no way of knowing what frame is requesting a page. You really shouldn’t use redirect for that purpose. Heck, you should avoid frames if you can help it.

Whatever you call your frame content, it will have to be loadable by a name. This could be different from your "official" name for the page, eg you give out "/news" on the radio, but it loads "/newsframe".

There are "framebuster" and frames-enforcer javascripts that can be used to reload the right frame.

Thanks Paul. I hate frames... but the client wants continous music while browsing the site. well I guess I can convince him.

Why does it need a frame for that (personally, I leave noisy sites as fast as I can close the browser tab/window)? Could it not be implemented in a snippet in the template?

Continous = carries on playing the same tune as you browse, rather than restarting the tune on every new page load.
