Fatal error during installation on line 150

    Hi Folks,

    I get the following error when trying to run the installation procedure:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: startcmssession() in ../public_html/index.php on line 150

    How to solve problem?
    It’s not the first time I install MODX. However it’s the first time I install MODX on this particular server.

    The environment looks like this:
    Apache version 1.3.37 (Unix)
    MySQL version 5.0.21-standard
    PHP version 4.4.4

      Looks like your manager/includes/config.inc.php file didn’t get created properly.

        Thanks sottwell for pointing me in the right direction...

        I could start the installation procedure, after I deleted config.inc.php. After that, I installed and chmodded the blank config.inc.php and continued the installation. This worked for me...

          FYI, you can also start installs by going directly to the install folder even with a config file present: http://yousite.com/install/
