Hey guys - I have modx installed at www.devspacehosting.com/modx and when I go to http://www.devspacehosting.com/modx/manager/ and try to log in, i use admin and the password I gave it during setup... It looks like it is going to login, but it just refreshes back to the login screen. In other words, it loops and I have no idea what to do from here?

    Any ideas?

Did you rename both ht.access files to .htaccess? I’ve had that happen when I forgot to rename the ht.access file in the manager folder.

i did not have the one in the manager folder renamed... although now that I have changed both, I am still in the login loop.

very wierd. I thought maybe it had something to do with installing in into a sub dir, so I erased everything and reinstalled in the root. Same issue. Both in FF and IE the login loops.

            New to this...

Is that a manual settings change? Cookies are enabled in both FF and IE.

I have not modified anything outside of installing it and changing the ht.access to .htaccess

I’m having the same problem. It’s very weird because for me it actually logs in, but takes me back to the login screen. If I click ’Forgot password,’ it actually takes me into the Manager.

If anyone has a resolution to this it would be appreciated. Perhaps I can just edit the login screen so that it redirects after a successful login - anyone know how I can do that?

                  Hi All,

I know Jack about php really, but I had this same problem. It has only started happening in the last day or two.

After checking the phpinfo on my server I noticed that Register Globals is not set to off by default and I had a php.ini file which was setting it to off before .. because my host had it set to on. I have removed this php.ini file and all is ok now. I did notice that my php version is 5.2.9 which has a build date of March 14. So am thinking this is about the time I started having problems.

try it out to see if it fixes for you.
