Mod note: This has been spun out of the main Wayfinder thread as it is not directly the fault of Wayfinder. Please bear in mind that most snippets need to run in a document. The "Execute after saving" is only useful in a small number of circumstances and many snippets are not designed to work that way.

Wayfinder seems to be a great snippet - but I can’t get it running.

There is an error message which was discussed several times on this forum but I couldn’t find a solution that works for me.

    This is the error message.

Failed opening 'assets/snippets/wayfinder/wayfinder.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='/www/htdocs/w0064ac0/modx/manager/includes/')

Warning: Unknown(assets/snippets/wayfinder/wayfinder.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/htdocs/w0064ac0/modx/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(705) : eval()'d code on line 28

Warning: (null)(): Failed opening 'assets/snippets/wayfinder/wayfinder.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='/www/htdocs/w0064ac0/modx/manager/includes/') in /www/htdocs/w0064ac0/modx/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(705) : eval()'d code on line 28

I tried Wayfinder on Windows and Linux, set the rights to 777 - the error message didn’t vanish.

Is there any one who can help me because I would like to use Wayfinder (like the hideSubMenu-Feature).

    Thanks

    Mazso

Are you sure you have the wayfinder folder in assets/snippets? And it’s not assets/snippets/Wayfinder, or something? And the file is actually in the folder?

Yes and yes and yes smiley

I tried it again - and it works. The error message just happens when I use "Execute snippet after saving" at the snippet manager. And so I tried and tried it again but never had a glance at the front end.

Of course. If you execute the snippet from the Manager, the path would have to be ../assets/snippets/wayfinder, since you’d be running it from the manager folder.

            I see. Thank you.
