Hi, I’ve got a problem with my site in IE6 ( rolleyes). It gives the following javascript error:
    Access is denied to: [url]/assets/js/csshover.htc

csshover.htc is used by Whatever:hover it says in the source.
    I’ve already CHMOD’ed it to 777, didn’t help.

What could this be, and more important how to solve it?
    Suggestions?

First, check out the notes at http://www.xs4all.nl/~peterned/csshover.html and see if any of that covers it. I had a host who was not serving the proper mime-type for .htc files on Linux as well. You may need to add this mime-type to your hosting configuration.

Thnx for the reply and the move.
Unfortunately it’s a shared server and I cannot change mime-types.

I looked further into the problem (after a good night sleep).

If I remove this line out of the <head> section the error is gone:
        body { behavior: url(assets/js/csshover.htc); } /* hover:anything support */

I put it back and it’s there again. Sometimes!

        IE6 drives me nuts.

I will look into it further and try to locate the problem.

Most shared servers allow you to either add your own custom mime-types (CPanel-based hosts usually do) to your account or you can add them via .htaccess directives, though I don’t know the exact syntax off-hand. But I’m not sure that is the problem here. Seems like something else might be wreaking havoc in this case...hmmm

Just to point something out that hasn’t been pointed out thus far, although it is covered in the link OpenGeek supplied I’m not sure that NoiZe read it fully.

The .htc file is actually a fix to enable IE6 to have :hover properties on any element, not just links. I believe that it is only IE that will try to load this file.

Now, if you do not have any elements with :hover that are not actually links, then I think you can safely remove the line from the CSS. And if you’re using Firefox to do the Manager/QuickEdit stuff, you really don’t need it.
No, I don&#39;t know what OpenGeek&#39;s saying half the time either.

I think the problem only excists if I’m logged in the MODx admin (under IE).
Problem could be in the QuickEdit.

Right. Does everything still work (although possibly not as prettily) if you disable the line?
Also, is there any difference if you add the site to your Trusted Zone thingie?
