Goto Resources > Plugins > QuickEdit
Disable it, then check if it works ? if yes then thats probably the quickedit to look into.
If its a quick edit issue than I hope someone more experienced will help you in this regard. BUT the fix I wrote above will let you have working MODx installation. (hopefully)

Thanks.. I’m kinda new to modx, I’ve used many CMS’s in the past, but as I’m sure you’re aware modx works a little differently - It’s interesting though.
Disabling QuickEdit seems to have worked for now.. but not being all that sort what QuickEdit does, I’m not sure if that will have any adverse side effects. ;/
QuickEdit is a heavy Javascript-based application that allows a logged-in Manager user to edit portions of a page from the "front-end" live part of the site. I never use it myself. It’s actually an optional module and plugin that can easily (and safely) be totally removed.
