I have just found Modx and I run an Smf 1.1rc2 website and I was wondering if Modx uses the theme from its own theme and pushes it to Smf or if you can use 2 different themes, 1 for Modx and one for Smf. huh This is my site:

Hope I made myself clear with this post.

MODx and SMF are two totally separated systems (except with the modx smf bridge you can sync the users).. they both have their own theming engine and use their own themes.

Ok, that answered that question. Are there different Themes (I know there are) for modx and where do I find them.

Look for topics that begin with [template].

There aren’t alot of ready made templates for modx, because it’s very easy to setup just a normal xhtml template in modx. You can look for a template for example in these resources http://www.oswd.org/ http://www.openwebdesign.org/ and slam it onto your page in minutes.

Just replace the demo content in the template HTML code with modx tags, template variables (more), chunks and snippet calls..

I have just installed a template from this site. As I`m new to Modx almost everything you said was greek to me, lol. But I think I know what your talking about. With a bit of fooling around and some help from all the experts here such as yourself I should be fine. Thank you for all your help. smiley
