What portion of the blog do you wish to move to MODx? The post’s, comments, pages?

I have no experience with Moveable Type so I can’t provide specific’s but it shouldn’t be too hard to move the posts into MODx documents with some clever SQL statements. As for comments, AFAIK no MODx snippet uses a database table to store comments (yet) so you might be out of luck.

Remember, MODx is not a blogging system like Moveable Type or Wordpress. It is a Content Management System/Framework. It can handle blogs but that does not make it a blogging system. Keep that in mind.
