How do you add new fonts to MODx, so you can use them in the page editor?
PM me to find out how you can get a FREE ipad 2!
That wouldn’t have anything to do with MODx, that would be an issue with the editor being used. Try the website for the editor. Or even do a Google search for fckeditor fonts... a bit of poking around got me this:

Thanks for the response Susan!
That does help, although I am interested in finding out if I can embed my font so that even if the site viewers don’t have the font on their machine, they will still be able to read the text.

Font embedding isn’t very well supported amongst browsers.. For example the embedded font on
this page doesn’t work with FF, only IE. If you want to do just some titles on your pages with custom font, you could look at
gtext and
Text2PNG snippets.

Josh,
You could also use siFR to do this with a simple flash file. Then you just specify H1 or any other general tag for it via FCK. It also downgrades if the visitor doesn’t have flash.
The link is here:

I got all excited over that, until I figured out that you have to have the Flash program that costs $699! Kinda steep just to have pretty headlines.

Susan,
Here is an example of how to create / use siFR without Flash. It’s technical.

Looks good, now we only need to make a sifr plugin

I guess this could be a good time for me to learn plugins.
We would just need to:
1. load these files at each page: sifr.js, sIFR-screen.css
2. Add the following text into the bottom of the page (right before </body></html>
<script type="text/javascript">
if(typeof sIFR == "function"){
sIFR.replaceElement(".yourclass1, .yourclass2, .contentheading, .componentheading", named({sFlashSrc: "YourSWFdirectory Here\tradegothic.swf", sColor: "#c64934", sWmode: "transparent"}));
}
</script>
I have included the example siFR-screen.css from the Joomla mambot as an example.

1. load these files at each page: sifr.js, sIFR-screen.css
For this, use
regClientStartupScript and
regClientCSS

</script>
And for this use
regClientScript
Write it, Test it, Package it up and post to repository and you’re done!
