Can i to do rights of access in MODx so that to allow to edit any page for the concrete user only, for example, him created?
In an administrative part or on a site.

Is it possible to make HACK, SNIPPET, MODULE or PLUGIN? How to make better?

        ОК smiley I’ll try.
I want to do personal permission for the user (or manager) to edit page(s).
I want this result: Michael (manager permission, role - myeditor) can edit http://mysite.ru/page.html,
but Bill (manager permission, role - myeditor) can’t edit http://mysite.ru/page.html
        i.e. role Bill = role Michael !

I suspected that’s what you meant... Right now in MODx permission is based on user groups (manager users group and web users group) not users, you can’t do that. It’s a limitation of the system, I most definitely agree.

Things will change in the future, the 1.0 branch will feature a new permission system. Manager users and web users should not be separate anymore, but I don’t know much more right now.

Where do I vote for this?

Where would I start if I want to create something like this, as I need it ASAP. Creating my own CMS which could run ontop of modx isn’t really an option either.

                • Create a user group, groupA. Create a document group, docgroupA. Link groupA to docgroupA, and assign Michael to groupA. Assign the document to docgroupA. Now Michael can edit the document, but Bill, who is not assigned to groupA, cannot.

It sure can be done that way Susan, but it becomes quite clumsy to create a user group for every user that needs editing rights... I have a 120 users website in progress, and I can tell you this sure is going to be heavy to manage...

True, it will become very difficult to manage if you have more users.

But, if you create a folder, assign it to a group, then surely everyone belonging to that group should be able to have access to the documents in that group? But you still need a way for them todo so from the frontend
