The best idea is to download the newest package of tinymce and have a look at the documentation included, paying special attention to the Configuration - Cleanup/Output - extended valid elements, valid elements area.

I have not looked at the tinymce addon yet, but i would bet thats where the issue lies... tinymce is so configurable that it can be very confusing at times but it is an excellent editor once you get it configured correctly smiley

After looking into this a bit further, the extended valid elements setting is exactly where the issue lies.

I have not installed the tinymce package yet, but after looking at the install files you need to modify the extended valid elements string (on or around line 232) in plugin.tinymce.tpl

I have no idea where this tpl file gets added upon install of the plugin, but that is what needs to be modified. Just look at the format of the string and you’ll see how to modify it smiley

Yes!! Thank you for the pointer.

Since "plugin.tinymce.tpl" is the plugin template, I had to change the plugin code (Resources -> Plugins -> TinyMCE). The param "extended valid elements" was extended with
          (...)ul[class|id|style],(...)
Here I get also rid of the unwanted "border=0" inside of the <img> tag, since "border" is deprecated in xthml.

BTW, the default rule set for elements used by TinyMCE can be found at the tinyMCE manual . I should have read this before posting here wink
