I just did a fresh install of ModX and I’m having trouble managing content. I searched the FAQ/tutorials and forum to no avail.

When I create a document, tick ’published?’ and hit ’save’ it shows up in the tree in the manager page, and I can navigate to it using the document number. However when I make it a child of another document and I navigate to the parent document it doesn’t show up under the ’Pages’ header. When I do the same thing on the demo site at opensourcecms.com the child page does show up under ’Pages’ header. What am I doing wrong?

    I am using :
    MODx 0.9.2.1 (rev 1005)
    apache 2.0.55
    PHP 5.1.4
    Windows 2000 SP4

Do you have the "Show in menu" box checked? In the Manager document tree (the left panel) what color is it? Red is for unpublished, orange is for do not show in menu.

It is green. Another problem I have is , although maybe not related, that when I want to add a user or webuser i via ’ Create/ edit user’ , fill in the form and hit ’save’ get the (not very helpful) error message "an error occured while attempting to save the user’s attributes".

Also in my apache error log there is the line:
"File does not exist: C:/documenten/webdesign/test/_hotshot/modx/media, referer: http://127.0.0.1/test/_hotshot/modx/manager/"

I installed modx in ’C:/documenten/webdesign/test/_hotshot/modx/’ and access it via ’127.0.0.1/test/_hotshot/modx/’ by the way. I already installed in "C:/documenten/webdesign/" but then I got the same problems and the apache message was :
"File does not exist: C:/documenten/webdesign/media, referer(...)"
