hi all
im showing how much of a newbie i am now...
i can’t see how a site editor might create a hyperlink to another page within the same site without knowing the documents [~id~].
Inserting a hyperlink, of course, gives a ’browser server’ option but that only points to files, images etc - not documents.
its cool using url ’other’ [~id~] - but what if youre using the frontend editor and dont know it?
hopefully im missing something really basic, any help is appreciated.
cheers

There is a plugin for both FCKEditor and TinyMCE that I’ve been meaning to work on that addresses this very thing. The idea is to allow for adding links to existing MODx pages directly within the editors without the need for knowing the ID of the document. However, because it was originally written for Etomite I need to sit down and hack away at it to get it to work right with MODx. Plus, the way that it does it isn’t the most user-friendly method so...it’ll take a little time to get it where it needs to be. Now...I’m not sure how this will work when it’s used on the front-end, but when I do work on it I’ll keep that in mind. Hopefully I’ll come up with a solution that everyone will like.
