    Hi,
I am beginner on MODx This is my first site using MODx.
Kindly help me with my following doubts

    1) I am planning to do the site on my pc on a MODx installation and later copying the whole site to the web server (after installing MODx on it). Is it possible? what are the things I should keep in mind?

    2) On my site there is a page which shows tv programmes for each day, like :
    9-10am ------ qqqqqqqqqqq
    10-11am ------ qwqweqweqw
.... and so on for each day.
Please tell me how to do this using MODx.

    3) Can I use different templates for each page?

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

      1) http://modxcms.com/moving-sites-to-new-servers.html

      2) Ditto might be useful here. Treat each day as a "news" article.

      3) Yes, although it sort of defeats the purpose of a template-driven site.

Thank you vey much. I am a newbie and am afraid I am not quite clear here.
I want the programs in a table or on a list.
A person should be able (after login) to add the programs for each day and also view prev date’s programs. Please tell me if this is possible?
Kindly elaborate if you don’t mind. Thank you for your time.

Actually what I want is the same template with different layouts for some pages. (ex: a page with forms..)

        Please help. Thanks in advance.

Ah, that’s another matter altogether. Sounds like you’ll need a custom snippet written to handle that.

As far as templates go, you can either use different site-wide templates for different pages, or if you want the same basic layout for the page as a whole, and just want the content of some pages to look different, then just put whatever html tags you like in the content for that page. In such a case, it might be better to disable the RichText Editor for that page, since they can sometimes mess up your carefully crafted custom HTML tags!
