Hacking the database

There is a known bug that creates a loop when trying to turn off user access to the manager console. Several posts mention adding a table in the database, but no one explains exacly where to add it. Can anyone provide specific instructions? I need to create a user that can edit content, but cannot access the manager.

As a separate inquiry, I also need this user to be able to post to a blog, without logging in separately. Any ideas?

I don’t think that ones been done yet, a lot of people have asked for it, but I don’t remember seeing a hack for it ... next release perhaps.
