Permissions

Hi,

I have installed MODx successfully and all seemed to be fine. However I am receiving intermittent problems when accessing various sections of the manager.

Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /manager/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This error can and will appear in any of the frames. Additionally this error occurs in both FF and IE. Is there anything I can do? I have CHMOD’d the pages and folders according to the installation rules. Is this possibly an issue with my web hosts?

These problems are most likely related to the use of mod_security by your provider. There are some other discussions of these issues in the forums, but I’ll have to search for them when I get more time.

i CHMOD the folder and the file to 777 but still get the same error, i am currentl asking my provider if they are running Mod_security"

update: apache2handler,Loaded Modules , mod_security2

does mod_security2 mean i have to contact my host?
