    Hello!

I am interested in having the following 2 features in MODx and I don’t know if they exist. Do you know a plug-in/snippet/module that provides one of these features ?
If not, how can I make such features ?

    1) Versioning - the ability to see the changes made on a document + the ability to go back to a diffrent version of the page
    2) Staging/Production phases - the ability to change a certain document in the admin, but to not show the changes until I approve them. An example for the use of such a feature, is a site with content writers/editors and an Admin of the site. Each change one of the writers/editors do, needs to be approved by the admin. Another example, is that the administrator made a change, and he wants to show it to his boss and to get an O.K. on the change, before making the change public.

Thank you very much for your answer! I really appreciate it.

      1) Not possible right now.

      2) Leave the docs unpublished. If you’re logged into the manager you can manually enter the ID of the document into the URL string (if FURLs are on) like http://yoursite.com/123 and view the document. If you like it, go publish it from the manager. Kinda hackish, but it works.

Hey Ryan and thank you for answering!

        1) Will it be possible in the future, and if so - when exactly?
Is it possible to achieve it with a module or a plug-in ?

        2) The workaround you suggested only works for new documents. I was talking about pages that have been published already, and someone wants to change the content, but do not want the changes to be visible in the published document, until he gets his boss’s approval for the changes (the boss needs to see the document with the changes from the Manager interface.

          1) It’ll definitely be possible in the future and then some... wink As to when, I can’t give a firm date; we have to survive first and frequently that involves code that gets us closer (like for the past 3-4 weeks!).

          2) That’s going to most likely be a post 1.0 workflow feature. No idea when it will be achieved.
