    Hi all,
I know that virtually unlimited nesting possibilities will be possible with the 1.0 release, but for the time being, help or ideas would be super appreciated. It’s not super-critical, but a fix would be swell. So...

On the homepage of a site I’m doing is a Ditto call, listing the recent news. Some news article have an image TV called Thumbnail, which is being displayed with the image widget. The problem is that the image widget generates an img tag even if the TV has no value, which is bad (especially in IE, or if alt tags have been defined). (This bug is discussed here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,2940.0.html)

To get around that widget issue, I’m using a snippet (check the link above to see it) that checks to see if a TV has been declared, and doesn’t output anything if it’s empty. So, "fixed" the widget bug, but...

If the snippet is called inside a chunk being displayed by Ditto, it doesn’t work at all.

Like I said, not a huge deal, and can be avoided by making sure that every article has the thumbnail TV defined, but ... any ideas? (And I hope the above makes a little sense. That’s a lot of nesting going on.)
    Thanks,
    Brett

      No news for this problem?

          Wow, old post.
The initial problem I reported could be easily solved with PHx, I think.

So, without details of what you’re trying to do, I’d just say "use PHx". Does that help?

            Thanks

            yep, I’ve sorted it now.

didnt use PHx (although I find it very useful for other stuff)

just used [[snippet]] instead of [!snippet!]

            easy really!
