hi:
i am new here. i want to know if it possible to create a site like digg.com where users vote for stories to be promoted to the front page.
users can register and send stories, then they go to a moderation queue and depending on votes they appear on the front page.
is this possible with modx?
thanks in advance.
MODx supports users and logins, etc. So for the article submission you will need to create a snippet for them to do that. Where the article goes is up to you, but you might be able to integrate with one of the other article snippets.
For the rating, that should be easy. Create a template variable for the documents called "rating". Create a snippet called "rate" that sets the rating value as needed. Create another snippet that shows the top x documents with a rating above a specific value, etc.
Basically MODx doesn’t really limit you, it provides a framework for you to build upon.
Have fun!
Andy
i thought that this snippets would already exist.
anyway i will come again some time in the future.
thanks.
