I’ve been noticing that when anything is happening in the backend manager area, it slows down the browser frontend when navigating through pages, that’s not good if when a visitor is browsing the site and the admin is working on it at the same time that it slows the site down for the user or visitor. I’m not sure if this is a bug or just the way the manager works so though I’d mention it

Most people are not simultaneously logged into the manger and the front end either. You’re probably noticing some general inefficiencies in the current manager implementation.

i see, guess then its a good thing to schedule work in the manager during non-peak hours thanks
That would be odd indeed. If that’s the case, I would probably guess that there is some performance issues with the server. The manager doesn’t share very many files with what is being used to parse pages on the front-end, mainly the document.parser.class.inc.php file. The part that is shared the most is the database itself, which on a good server with plenty of bandwidth shouldn’t cause a significant decrease in performance for your visitors while using the manager. This is only a guess since I would have to know more about the server you’re on. Is this a site that is accessible from the internet? If so, what’s the address? I’ll be happy to take a peek.

I believe bugsmi0 is a fellow Mac guy, and uses Safari. The current manager slows that browser down the longer it’s used.

yep, I be on the Safari, i think mac users need to go on a protest to improve third party performance on Safari lol
maybe i’ll try to go a week without Safari and use firefox instead, will be tough, major withdraws he he The eyes get use to the Safari Eyecandy, like an addiction
bugsmi0, the eye candy and niceness of the Safari interface is cool, but FireFox WORKS. Period.
How many user interfaces is Safari buggy with? From what I hear, a whole lot.
how could you have used Safari with modx seeing that the fckedit doesn’t work with it ? how do you work with your documents by manual coding ?
I still believe Safari is far superior in terms of performance than any other browser but its true it be buggy with cms systems and also admin type areas its getting better but still has a ways to go, performance wise it beats firefox hands down only firefox has alot of crap that comes with it called extensions.
