    Hello,
I have modx 0.9.2.1 running properly (mysql 5.0 and php 5.0.4, apache 2.0)

However when i want to add a new TV and try to save it, i get this error:

    >> $rs not set! New variable not saved!

    What wrong here?

I had a similar problem a while back, but for me it was chunk that gave me this very same error. In my case, it only occurred after a site transfer from test to production. I can’t find the reference to the thread sad but what I remember is for some reason, some tables were improperly created with the id field not being set to "auto-increment".

Check that modx_site_tmplvars has the id field set to auto-increment, I hope that will help, not sure I remember this correctly.

Last question : is you MODx install a fresh 0.9.2.1 install or an update ?

I checked the tables they all have auto_increments, so I guess that’s allright.
The same problem occurs when trying to add a new template. Adding new chunks, plugins etc.. is no problem

Then I must not remember correctly... It’s a shame I can’t find my post (the forum search is not a great performer) because I had been able to solve this... I’ll look some more and report !

Okay... I have looked into all my april posts and found it, but I am afraid you won’t have specifics here :
Error festival : $rs not set! New Chunk not saved! and Internal Server Error

Don’t know if this can help you, but I think there must be something faulty with your DB...
About my previous question : was it a clean install or an update ?

It was a clean install but my mysql server (5.0) was running in the (default) strict mode.
I read elsewhere on this forum that it’s better to changed that, so i did.

After I did a clean install of the MODX database everything worked OK.

              thx for your help!

Interresting... that should be documented somewhere... I’ll look into that !
Would you have a link to this thread you mention ?

                      I had the same problem.
Once I put ’0’ in the field ’Sort Order:’ (in the tv edit form) everything is fine.
