I received a customer request for a new dotMobi domainname. I wasn’t aware of this new development, but it now got my interest. dotMobi is the first – and only – top level domain dedicated to delivering the Internet to mobile devices. dotMobi will revolutionize the use of the Internet on mobile devices. dotMobi is designed to guide mobile users to made-for-mobile Internet content and services that can be accessed with confidence.

Dotmobi will publish a set of Style guides known as the dotmobi Switch On! Guides in order to ensure that the user experience of the web on a mobile device is as good as possible. Style Guides act as a guide and reference when building the content and services. Style Guides are composed of mandatory rules, highly recommended best practices and optional best practices. Compliance with mandatory rules is one of the terms and conditions of using a dotmobi domain. Style Guides will be published for a range of domain services types, starting with the Browsing Style Guide, which covers web browsing interaction. Are there any plans of having MODx compliant for the dotMobi domains?

MODx does nothing that would prohibit you from being in full compliance with the most stringent of .mobi recommendations.

Right on Ryan. In fact I’m thinking about making future versions of MODx a little more WAP friendly
