Hi, I’m a total newby at modx - did an etomite site though once. I’m working on this youth site that needs a photogallery, news, events, possibly a poll feature and other content pages that can be updated easily for the client.

heres my raw layout template I did:

I’ve already installed ModX and now need docs or information on adding my design to the modx template system.

I didn’t even do my menu yet as I saw a feature within modx that said something about the menu system. If it can be done within modx rather than me hand coding the links then I want to learn how to do that.

Any direction would be most helpful.

You generate the menus dynamicly with DropMenu snippet. No coding involved .. it has been all done for you laugh

I just took a quick peek at your design, very nice and noticed the CSS in there, so a convert can be a easy task.

      Take a peek here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,3450.0.html

This is how I got the start and made it possible for me to convert some already designed templates ready for ModX.

      Hope this get’s you rolling..

I have a complete walk-through of how I installed my template on my site here. While the template won’t be the same, the principles will apply.
