The MODx sample website installation and customizing

    Has anyone got a link for a MODx default sample website?

    I think it would be great for the new - beginning user to see some tutorials of customizing the sample website in order to better make use of the sample site, and just have some basic idea-starters as well.

    I didn’t manage to install the Sample Website when setting up my MODx setup, nothing has been added except the setup configuration details. Is it possible to simply go in and run the upgrade and setup the sample site now?
    I surely wouldln’t want to break anything now that it’s up and running for me.

    I was thinking I would like to work on a tutorial site myself, to cover some of the basics as I learn them myself.

      Yes, you can simply run the upgrade script and choose to install/update the sample site content.

        There is an ongoing tutorial project at modXhost.com done by Starbuck. Maybe you can help him to continue with that site..

          I upgraded the installed files, and copied in the sample site.
          No problem’s at all doing that, didn’t think I would understand the mechanics of how the pages and data are saved and named without the sample site.
          Thanks for the sample site!
          I’ve got to get going with the documentation, big—time, and find a purpose to invent a new site, that might reasonably gain a little bit of a following. Maybe I can cook up a viral marketing widget. smiley
