    Hi there.

    I wanted to check out MODx for myself on my machine. Apache2 and MySQL are already working for a joomla-site. So I extracted the zip-file into my public_html and started the fine installation-pages with my browser. I supplied passwords for MySQL and it created its database and tables. I tried this with and without sample data. No apparent errors.

    But after installation I can only get the admin pages (which seem to work correctly). The normal page always shows errors:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
    Error: Unknown(assets/modules/quick_edit/output.class.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
    File: /home/lippmann/public_html/modx-0.9.2.1/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(681) : eval()’d code
    Line: 70

    Am I missing something? How can I fix it?

    Thanks
    Donalbain
    • Well, for a quick fix, go into Manager, Modules, Manage Modules, and disable the QuickEdit module. Then use your ftp client to take a look at the /assets/modules/folder and see what you can see.

        Hi!

        I disabled that module, didn’t help. The error message stays the same.

        When I look into the assets/modules-Folder with my file manager, I see the quick_edit-folder with all its files...

        What do suspect is the problem?

          Try disabling the QuickEdit plugin: Manage Resources->Plugins Tab

          That should at least stop the error message displaying until a fix for your problem can be found.
