hi,
my project is comming along slowly
I have a good idea of what my extra event db should be able to do and the main table will be:
`idEvents` INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT ,
`Category_idCategories` INT NOT NULL ,
`Countries_idCountries` INT NOT NULL ,
`Regions_idRegions` INT NOT NULL ,
`Subregions_idSubregions` INT NOT NULL ,
`Owners_idOwners` INT NOT NULL ,
`Title` TEXT NULL ,
`Description` TEXT NULL ,
`Level_Age` TEXT NULL ,
`Startdate` DATE NOT NULL ,
`Enddate` DATE NOT NULL ,
`Website` VARCHAR(255) NULL ,
`Contact_Name` VARCHAR(50) NULL ,
`Contact_Telephone` VARCHAR(15) NULL ,
`Contact_Email` VARCHAR(100) NULL ,
`Organiser` VARCHAR(50) NULL ,
`Address_1` VARCHAR(100) NULL ,
`Addres_2` VARCHAR(100) NULL ,
`Postal_Code` VARCHAR(15) NULL ,
`City` VARCHAR(50) NULL ,
now I want my site to be multilangual.
I read about lexicons
http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Internationalization .
And that seems like a good way to make my site multilangual.
I want ppl that add events in my database to have the ability to also add translations.(title and description)
If I understand Revolutions lexicon that won’t work well for my external db.
I am thinking of changing Description (and Title) into Desciption_idDescripion.
that would reffer to the table Description
`idDescripion` INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT ,
`language` VARCHAE(2) NOT NULL ,
`Description` TEXT NOT NULL ,
So when a visitor looks at an Event the site can show the event in the language that is chosen by the visitor and if not available the first language found.
Does this look like the right way to go?
greetings
