    I recently migrated a site-in-progress to a new server, everything else went smoothly but the cyrillic characters in [*content*] are all scrambled like this По прибытÐ. What is strange is that cyrillic characters in chunks and templates display correctly. When I try to copy + paste some new cyrillic content it shows as question marks.

    My database charset is utf8 and collation charset is utf8_unicode_ci. I’m using MODx 1.0.2 on Ubuntu running Apache & MySQL 5.1.37. What am I missing? Thanks.

      Hi!
      This is probably my first and only attempt to answer a question about Cyrillic. smiley

      I’m not certain, but I have something to try. I don’t know the Cyrillic commands, but.... if you’re in the Manager, you would go to....
      Tools... Configuration... Interface & Features.

      Look down and find Front-End Editor language. I don’t see Cyrillic there, but there are others, like 2 flavors of Russian.

      Hope that help... but it probably doesn’t.
      Good luck, Dave

        Thanks Dave,

        However, I don’t think the editor language has anything to do with my problem (and I tried it with no success), for it displays the characters all right until I save the document, then they turn into question marks. So it appears to have something to do with either TinyMCE config or MySQL config, I guess. I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that cyrillic characters work well everywhere else but in [*content*]..

          Ah, that’s the clue we needed - did you set
          Entity Encoding -> raw
          in TinyMCE plugin configuration tab?

            I think this is because of my mysql and mysqld configs clash somewhat.. for example mysqladmin shows default-character-set as utf8 but mysqld shows it as latin1.
