Hi,
I’m new to MODX and heard it supports RTL out of the box for the front end (manager looks better with LTR and English).
Can any one please point me as to how i change the front end to RTL?
Thanks

MODx outputs whatever you input for front-end page rendering. If you know how to present standard HTML in RTL, then you are ready to go.
Thanks, regular content is ok, but for menus, news etc, do i need to change the default CSS?

This may be of use; MODx doesn’t require anything special in this regard.

Have you noticed the Hebrew board here?

My Hebrew isn’t good enough to be of much (well, any at all to be honest) use, I’m afraid.
Sorry, still couldn’t get front end to show RTL, even with the Hebrew installer.
Can you please point out the steps required to show front end right to left (i’m very familiar with CSS, HTML etc.)
If i need to modify separate files or the CSS file directly or within MODX
thanks again,
Roie

If you want your sidebars and other HTML structures to switch from one side to the other depending on the language, then you could use two different .css files, one named rtl.css and the other ltr.css, using a snippet or TV to determine which one to use; you could use the same one to specify the direction in the <html> tag.
<html ... dir="[!dir!]">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="assets/templates/mytemplate/[!dir!].css" />
Shalom roie,
the RTL has nothing to do with modx in the Front end. that all up to your css.
The only thing the settings in the manager do is for the manager interface.
Shalom and thanks a lot guys, will modify the files accordingly and hopefully by weekend will have a demo site to showcase. Thanks again!
